Rare’s Sea of Thieves is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of next year, with the game offering the company a chance to do something interesting for the first time in many years. While the game still does not have a firm release date, for those who want to try the game out as soon as possible there is another option besides the full release.
The company has just kicked off what they are calling the Insider program, which will come with several benefits. While obviously sending all of the latest news relative to the game directly to your inbox, it will also be used to choose players for the early access build of the game. “Every Insider will also be designated with a unique badge in our official forum, making their posts and feedback that much easier to spot for our team,” reads the announcement. “That same badge will provide access to a private Insider section of the forum.”
It also confirms that “Insiders will be sent surveys and questionnaires relating to Sea of Thieves, giving them the opportunity to provide input on specific areas of gameplay and design for the development team.”
Sea of Thieves will launch for Xbox One and PC sometime in 2017.
